About this listen

From the #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the genre-breaking international TikTok sensation Butcher & Blackbird and Leather & Lark comes the final book in the Ruinous Love Trilogy—a friends-with-benefits dark romantic comedy packed with murder, mayhem, and spice.

Doctor Fionn Kane is running from a broken heart, one he hopes to mend in small-town Nebraska, far away from his almost-fiancé and his derailed surgical career. It’s a simpler life: head down, hard work, and absolutely no romantic relationships. He wants none of the circus he left behind in Boston.

But then the real circus finds him.

Motorcycle performer Rose Evans has spent a decade on the road with the Silveria Circus, and it suits her just fine, especially when she has the urge to indulge in a little murder when she’s not in the spotlight. But when a kill goes awry and she ends up with an injured leg, Rose finds herself stuck in Nebraska, at the home of the adorably nerdy town doctor.

The problem is, not every broken heart can be sewn back together.

. . . And the longer you stay in one place, the more likely your ghosts are to catch up.

Editorial Review

A circus performer walks into a clinic...
Scythe & Sparrow, the conclusion to Brynne Weaver’s Ruinous Love Trilogy, is finally here—and I was hooked from the moment I pressed play. This story has it all: tension, chaos, and steam that had me blushing one minute and literally saying, “Oh, my” out loud the next. Dr. Fionn Kane, trying to leave the darkness of his past behind, is living a quiet life in Nebraska when Rose, a circus performer with a dangerous secret, crashes into his world—literally. After an injury lands her under his care, their connection grows in ways neither of them expected, pulling them into a web of danger and desire. Eric Nolan and Samantha Brentmoor deliver a performance that brings every twist and stabby turn to life. —Patty R., Audible Editor

This was my favorite book of the three. The first 2 were incredible books and had me laughing out loud and hanging on to every second. This book flew by. I couldn’t stop. Favorite brother by far!

This book is sweet where the others were salty.

The first 2 books were better, in my opinion but this was worth the read. It didn’t make me laugh out loud like the other books but I still enjoyed it.

Awesome to have a conclusion

Their chemistry was so great from the get-go. I felt like they were both kind-hearted people who covered insecurities with humor. I loved the banter. The ending destroyed my heart in the best possible way. This may be my favorite book of the Ruinous Love Trilogy. Each one has gotten better and better for me. I hope the little teaser in Epilogue 2 means we’ll get another book!

Witty banter, chemistry for days, a love story for the ages.

I love all of these books, but there's just something about Rose and Fionn that just hit home. Their plot is sweet and funny. I want to crochet more than ever now, and cotton candy is sexy? Come on. It's Samantha Brentmoor and Eric Nolan for goodness sakes!!

BRYNNE WEAVER!
