About this listen

In an Arizona desert a man wanders in a daze, speaking words that make no sense. Within twenty-four hours he is dead, his body swiftly cremated by his only known associates. Halfway around the world archaeologists make a shocking discovery at a medieval site. Suddenly they are swept off to the headquarters of a secretive multinational corporation that has developed an astounding technology. Now this group is about to get a chance not to study the past but to enter it. And with history opened to the present, the dead awakened to the living, these men and women will soon find themselves fighting for their very survival—six hundred years ago. . . .

The review has an unlimited field of suspence and diversity. I loved listening to this book, somtimes couldnt put it down. I wish Chrichton would have set it up for a sequal because this book could go on forever.
This book is possibly the reason that i am even using audible, I always thought books were a waste and that hearing them would be even more straining to put myself through, however, that is not the case. This book is possibly the most intriguing and stimulating books that ive finished in years.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I listen while walking and it made me walk farther because I didn't want to stop listening. Some of the language was harsh and the brutality was MORE harsh, but it brought Mideaval Times to life.I could smell, see, hear and taste the world the modern scientists were transported to.

Where does Timeline rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I WILL listen again because of story line AND the narrator/reader. It ranks in the top 3 of my: I HAVE & WILL listen again.

What did you like best about this story?

Again...good story line (I didn't think I could be interested in this topics), and excellent narrator/reader.

Which scene was your favorite?

The "Karma" of the business man who ended up being "sent back" himself.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

In my opinion...an audiobook can REALLY bring a novel to life with a GREAT reader.

A new interest...

In retrospect I should have payed closer attention to the charater names earlier in the novel. Movies take out so much, the unabridged versions add so much. I needed to concentrate and not take too much time between listening sessions. What a great way for exposure to that point of time in the world

Enjoyed it.

This was an odd book because it had an interesting premise and was filled with rich historical detail - but it failed to hook me and really grab my attention.

The characters seemed underdeveloped and almost wooden and unbelievable. It was hard to really care what happened to them.

There was a lot of action but it got to the point of where it was at the expense of plot Developement.

Overall, I got through it and would summarize it as a mildly interesting book.

This book was well written, well read; both narrator and author did and excellent job. While listening to this book I found myself sitting in the car after I got home from work or wherever and taken in by the story I was completely content. Maybe it was long but, if you read it yourself it will take you just as long. Also on that note I think that that time actually deepens our sympathy for the characters. I learned a lot. It was exciting. It was easy to follow. I felt like I went on a trip with a few friends. All in all I would say lend an ear. Bravo.

La trama es interesante. La forma de llevarlo en bastante inteligente, al final el desenlace es un tanto tipo Hollywood, pero si vas en un auto por varias horas, te pasaras un buen momento en la carretera.

Muy bueno

I admit that the movie adaption to this story is crap. BUT, I had faith that Crichton being such a smart guy, could provide the detail and character enhancment that the movie so sorely lacked. I am happy to say that the unabridged version exceeds my expectations. The characters were real and easilly visual. The story had lots of punch, while still slowing down for a convincing backstory. A few times while hiking the story actually made me stop and curse. I was very much inside the story. I cared about the people. Loved some of them, hated some of them. I had opinions throughout of what I would do in that situation. I was involved! I cared.

It's not often that a story comes alive like this. I find myself sad that it had to end. If it had had another dozen disks, I would have been totally okay with that. I'm sad only that it had to end. It's too bad that the movie didn't capture the story I heard here. But that's Hollywood for ya.

Great story!
