Mr. Pyper has crafted a solid supernatural mystery. Full of depth, and nuance. What I enjoyed most was the Pyper's exploration of the effects of "the gift" on the recipient. Although the tone was different, it reminded me of "Odd Thomas". Joshua Jackson gave a respectable reading, though at times I had to rewind to be sure who had said what. But better that than suffering through the pain of falsetto female voices!

Well worth a listen.

I stayed with this story hoping it would eventually make sense but at the end it wasn’t. At some point it was just to repetitive and there are really no characters that are even likable. Also, the main character, who works with law enforcement keeps making stupid decisions.

A long but ultimately unsatisfactory read

This story takes you on a rollercoaster ride. Each character a person you feel like you know, you can see and touch. The story flows well. I was thoroughly entertained!

Well written and read!

Oracle doesn't have the most original idea, but it is well executed with plenty of thrills and chills.

An excellent voice for a compelling thriller

Set in the present, you will want to listen to this piece of fiction. I was glued to the narration almost immediately. Yeah, it is a psychological thriller alright but the author gets you involved with the main character right away. The focus is not on the psychic being a fake but on his competence. The police and FBI have mixed feelings but they allow him to proceed even if most of them are skeptical. This is a novel with twists and turns and the ending is out of this world. This author wrote a compelling book and the Narration was superb.

I enjoyed this story it was unusual but so many inner musings which were overbearing at times which caused me to fast forward and I missed nothing of the story...
Overall I enjoyed this title.. it was fun, it just took too ong to get to the mystery and its eventual solution...
Joshua Jackson was very good as Nate...

FUN STORY BUT SO MANY UNNECESARY INNER MUSINGS....

This is an excellent pairing of Joshua Jackson doing superb narration along with or story that is dark, but rich in detailed descriptions and vivid details that paint the picture very well! Thoroughly enjoyed the listen, will definitely check out other books by this author as this was my first read/listen with his books, and hope Joshua Jackson narrates again!

Captivating thriller!

Really great story. Both creepy and entertaining. JJ did a good job. I didn’t know what I was in the mood for and this was perfect.

This audiobook was included with my membership. I cannot believe it. It was excellent from start to finish. I was not frightened by the story's paranormal elements. As with the majority of books, it slows with background development.
I do recommend this audiobook.

Pleasantly surprised 😯

Meh. This book had so much potential but I found myself so relieved when it was finally over. I was too invested to just stop listening even though I really was sick of the authors style.

The author keeps the excessive dramatics cranked up to an 11 out of 10 the entire time. Since the listener cannot keep our own emotions high keyed the result is feeling a bit exhausted and breaking the suspension of disbelief.

The story winds up being like a ridiculous daytime tv drama. Soap operas are tiresome and absurd and if I’d known that was how this entire book would be start to end I would have passed for sure.

The main character feels sorry for himself way too often and the story can’t decide if he is useful or useless. The whole thing is inconsistent and annoying and way, way too slow. Too full of self-pitying monologues and unrealistic behavior.

The story had so much potential. It was a really great idea. Unfortunately the writing was not well done and the idea was ruined as a result.

Wasted Potential
