Wow! This book is once again my favorite of the series! This is why:
1. The Triwizard Tournament creates a story that is complex, exciting, tense, funny and heartbreaking. It is a plot that allows Harry, Ron and Hermione to explore all of their wonderful wizarding powers. Their friendship grew and flourished in this book. The tournament setting provided a deeper and more challenging setting which was often startling, sometimes scary and always entertaining. It made me think.
2. The children are no longer children. Now that they are young adults Ms Rowling wrote more complicated and deeper problems for them to tackle as well as more burdensome and painful emotions for them to feel. This emotional tension was carried all the way through the book to the devastating end. It made me feel.
I thought. I felt. I cried. I mourned the end of another great book. And I anxiously downloaded book #5 to read immediately following the end of this one.
