Laci Rocha Peterson, eight months pregnant, was last seen by her sister, Amy, in the late afternoon of December 23, 2002. She spoke to her mother, Sharon Rocha, at 8:30 p.m. that night. This would be the last time anyone from her immediate family ever spoke to her.

A search began which lasted an agonizing four months. Sadly, Laci Peterson and her son Conner were found dead on the shores of San Francisco Bay on April 18, 2003.

Her husband, Scott, was eventually arrested and charged with the murder of Laci and Connor. After a sensational, media-saturated trial, Peterson was found guilty of capital murder and was sentenced to death on March 16, 2005.

This book deals with the story in three separate sections: first, Sharon describes the ordinary, loving life her daughter led, including fond memories of her childhood and adolescence. Second, it covers her marriage, disappearance, the community's moving search for her, and her and Connor's eventual recovery from San Francisco Bay. Third, it tells the story of the trial in detail not before revealed. Sharon will also talk about victim's rights, a subject on which she now campaigns regularly.

Amazing story about a mother’s love and courage

This book was awesome. It was so moving and touching. You will cry for her pain and cheer for Laci’s justice in the end.

Best Perspective

Written by Sharon Larocha, this book is one of the best true stories of this terrible crime. Because it was authored by Laci’s mother, this book touches the heart of its readers/listeners. This is the true story told by the person who lived through the most devastating event in anyone’s life. Highly recommend!

This is a heartbreaking account from Laci's mom as to the death of her daughter.

Such a tragedy

This book from Sharon is written so very well. Thankfully, in the middle of a horrible circumstance, she was able to take notes and remember so many conversations and details. I was so captured with this story and I truly wish many blessings for all of the circle of love and Laci's immediate family. You will always be in my prayers.

A book everyone should read -1000%. Well written, there is just so much to this book on so many levels. My heart goes out to this family always.

When the news of her disappearance broke I instantly thought - the husband did it! I can’t imagine the pain her family must endure daily….

A Mother’s Strength

On Christmas Eve 2002, my sister in law from CA had just arrived inMN and she was very concerned about a missing pregnant woman near home. I followed the story and just finished Sharon’s book. Sharon is so strong and I hope writing the book helped her emotionally. Hats off to a very brave mother.
